In 2006, the CAPE Student Council wanted to start a tradition of giving back to our community. That year, they started a collection of items for our local food bank and women's shelter, where a great need was recognized. This is the 11th year of CAPE students "stacking the sleigh" for charity. Collection will take place from the end of November 2017 until mid December 2017. The class with the most items per student will win lunch for their class. The second-place class will win cookies and milk. Winners will be announced at the last Star Student Assembly in December 2017.
Here is what is on the wish lists for our organizations:
Non-perishable food items and gift cards for gas & groceries are needed greatly this year.
Cash is always welcome as the food bank needs to purchase perishable items such as fresh produce, milk, cheese, eggs and to pay for the processing of donated beef.
Children’s items:
Gift Certificates for family outings:
Miscellaneous:
This year we are also teaming with the Safeway Workers Union to collect children's shoes in good usable condition to send to the women's shelter as well.
