Each year, CAPE selects 3 charities: local, provincial and global, and engages in activities with students to support the development of citizenry skills as well as personal skills such as empathy and altruism.

Local

In the first term we focus on local charities. For years, CAPE has recognized the work of the Medicine Hat Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub and Medicine Hat Woman’s Shelter to support families.
One of our biggest charity activities is the collection of items for each of these organizations throughout December. This is known as Stack the Sleigh.

2023-2024

  • SPCA
  • Mustard Seed

Provincial

CAPE has engaged in activities to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  In 2020-2021, CAPE once again took part in various activities to raise money to support this organization.

National

CAPE also supports national and global organizations, such as the Global Water Project through the Samaritan’s Purse, Read to Change The World, The Canadian Cancer Society, UNICEF, Terry Fox Foundation and the Make – A – Wish Foundation.
