Field Trips

An integral part of CAPE's program is its partnership with the community. Field trips are just one way of learning within the community, from the community.

Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre

The Esplanade is where arts and heritage come to life in Medicine Hat, where the stories of our great collective culture are told through music and dance, theatre, painting and sculpture, exhibitions and installations, artifacts, objets d’art and more.  Our students love visiting the different exhibits and galleries.

Neubauer Farms

Neubauer Farms, owned and operated by Mark and Nichole Neubauer, is a mixed farming operation located just outside of the city of Medicine Hat. They grow cereals, oilseeds, forage and raise beef cattle. They also host the farm education program “Growing Minds” where children throughout our community visit to learn more about where their food comes from and who grows their food

Medalta Potteries

Set against the dramatic cliffs of the South Saskatchewan River in Medicine Hat Alberta, the 150-acre Historic Clay District was once home to the earliest industry in Western Canada. Today the history of the once-dominant pottery & clay industry is being revived with the iconic Medalta Potteries National Historic Site providing the setting for a living, working museum.

Medicine Hat Regional Hospital

Students from K-9 have learned from their visits to the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.  Students have visited the paediatrics ward, speech and language services, and cast clinics.  Grade 9 students have had the benefit of the PARTY program.

Police Point Park

The Interpretive Centre at Police Point Park offers a rich variety of experiences across the curriculum: science, environmentalism, writing, mathematics, geography.

Safety City

The South Eastern Alberta Safety Alliance Society (SEASAS) also known as Safety City is a not for profit, charitable organization whose main focus is to improve community safety through education and awareness, thus reducing and/or preventing injury related incidents.  Students learn about bike safety, how to be safe home alone, how to be safe online, how to be a good friend and so much more!

Medicine Hat Fire Department

The Medicine Hat Fire Department comes into our school to present on Fire Prevention as well as allows classes to attend fire station #1 on Maple Avenue.  While there, students take a tour, try on some gear and spray a fire hose.

Medicine Hat Public Library

The library offers many children's programs and author readings that our students are able to attend.  Did you know that library memberships for kids are free!?
