CAPE School is focused on achieving academic and personal excellence. This is achieved through the personalized integrated program. This program is supported through community partnerships, partnerships with parents, collaboration with external services, and a counselling approach to discipline.
CAPE has completed the modernization of our jurisdiction space, our second floor. It has 4 offices, a very small kitchen and bathroom.
These offices are currently occupied by our Secretary-Treasurer, our Executive assistant, our Facility Manager, while the last office is shared by our new part-time administrative assistants.
CAPE grade 8/9A and 8/9B students have been engaged in an enlightening cultural experience with the school College Marcel Doret in Le Vernet, France. They are a part of a pen pal program exchanging friendly letters with students of their own age living in the city of Toulouse (the 5th biggest city in France). The students are new to the English language and have only been exposed to it for the last 3 years.
CAPE has partnered with Mother Earth’s Children’s Charter School.
Principal Erin Danforth and teacher Maxine Hildebrandt came to Medicine Hat over the summer to meet with CAPE staff.
We are hoping to share information and possibly set up student exchange visits between MECCS and CAPE School during the year. Mrs. Hildebrandt’s students have already started sharing activities with teacher Sara Fairbrother’s students at CAPE by exchanging All About Me posters to let them get to know each other.
As of August 30, 2021 CAPE has opened two additional teaching spaces, a grade 3/4/5 classroom and an 8/9 classroom. All teaching spaces are now utilized.
